Got this myself on my phone, and it simply rejected to update. Here's what worked for me.

Edit: this appears to be a problem that Facebook are aware of. It's a concern with the Facebook app, and also not a generalised Play Store concern.

This is what benefited me a minimum of.

  1. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Shop, Clear information and Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Services > Manage space, Clear all information as well as Clear cache


It doesn't harmed if you reboot your phone before you try updating facebook once more. As well as, the set up was SLOW. Just at the very least 4-5 minutes. However, it did job. Otherwise attempt to uninstall it, or merely await a fix.
