I Updated Facebook and now It Won't Open | New 2019

Got this myself on my phone, and it just refused to upgrade. Below's what benefited me.

Edit: this seems to be a concern that Facebook understand. It's a concern with the Facebook application, and not a generalised Play Shop issue.

This is what helped me at least.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Shop, Clear data as well as Clear cache

  2. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Services > Manage area, Clear all data as well as Clear cache


It doesn't hurt if you restart your phone prior to you try updating facebook once again. As well as, the install was SLOW. Simply at least 4-5 mins. However, it did work. If not attempt to uninstall it, or simply wait for a fix.
