Got this myself on my phone, as well as it simply rejected to upgrade. Below's what worked for me.

Edit: this seems to be a concern that Facebook understand. It's a problem with the Facebook application, and also not a generalised Play Store issue.

This is what worked for me at the very least.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Shop, Clear data and also Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Solutions > Manage space, Clear all data and Clear cache


It does not injured if you reactivate your phone prior to you attempt updating facebook once more. And also, the set up was SLOW. Just at least 4-5 minutes. Yet, it did work. Otherwise try to uninstall it, or merely wait for a fix.
